1. FEBRUARY 6 IS DIGITAL LEARNING DAY

in conjunction with the national Digital Learning Day, State Superintendent Tony Evers has proclaimed February 6, 2013, Digital Learning Day in Wisconsin, asking teachers, librarians, school leaders, community group members, and parents around the state to try a new digital learning activity in the classroom, to showcase their digital learning successes, or to learn from the digital learning activities of others. A link to the proclamation is at http://imt.dpi.wi.gov/sites/default/files/imce/imt/pdf/DLDproc13.pdf. Digital Learning Day is a national campaign celebrating teachers and highlighting successful instructional practice and effective use of technology in classrooms across the country. Tens of thousands of teachers representing nearly 2 million students participated in last year's first ever celebration of the event.

To participate in this year's Digital Learning Day, Wisconsin educators should start by registering on the national Digital Learning Day website at http://www.digitallearningday.org/registration/, then visiting the Wisconsin Digital Learning Day webpage at http://imt.dpi.wi.gov/imt_dlday to share their Digital Learning Day events happening that day, see what others are doing, and find new activities in which to participate. Activities and events can also be found on the national website at http://www.digitallearningday.org/learn-and-explore/digital-learning-tools/.

State Superintendent Tony Evers will observe the day with one or more events still to be determined; additional statewide Digital Learning Day activities will be announced closer to the date.
