2. ENHANCING SUMMER READING - WEIGH IN NOW

What if you could connect with summer readers at your library in an entirely new way? What if you could offer them a reading program with interactive digital capabilities, so they could read, play, listen, and create? And what if you had free tools to provide that program? Pretty exciting, right? Find out how the Public Library Association (PLA) received a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the planning of a National Digital Summer Reading website application and how they intend to make it work. The PLA's summer reading website provides a project description of the planning process; some individuals are under the assumption that the end product of this grant is an app that can be deployed for summer reading. They hope that research and planning leads to the creation of a NDSR app but the job at hand is to lay the groundwork. Share your input now via the website: http://summerreading.pla.org/
